Back to News Listing Armada 2526 Gets A Supernova-Sized Update!

Posted: Thursday, June 03, 2010 by Sean Drummy

Type: Press Release

Tons of new features, fixes, and tweaks make this update a must-have for all galactic commanders

Matrix Games and Ntronium Games (www.ntronium.com) are thrilled to release a major new update for their hit turn-based strategy/real-time tactical blend, Armada 2526! The new comprehensive v1.3.0.2 update comes packed with new features and graphics, balance changes, tweaks, bug fixes, and more!

Just a few of the improvements that the 1.3.0.2 update comes with include:

  • Improved graphics for menus, the star map, and battle backgrounds, in addition to a new human model and more!
  • A new custom battles feature so players can set up their own battles and play them whenever they want.
  • A Finder Panel that displays crucial information about one’s empire in a quick and easily-understood way.
  • Two new scenarios: In the first the player must destroy a vastly larger but technologically inferior empire while the second scenario is set on the galactic rim, where finding the wormholes to escape one’s local star cluster is important.
  • A new hi-visibility mode for battles to allow players to zoom out very far in battles and still easily observe the battle and issue orders.
  • Plenty more!

To showcase the beautiful new art and great new features in the 1.3.0.2 update, an updated trailer is available on YouTube in addition to a sizeable new pack of screenshots!

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said “This latest update for Armada 2526 does so much to improve an already thoroughly addicting experience. Since the game’s release, Ntronium has been hard at working improving and expanding what is being called the Total War series in space!”

Expand your Empire, Conquer the Galaxy!

Armada 2526 is the heir to one of the first great space empire-building games and it is the product of veteran game designer and developer R.T. Smith, of “Total War” series fame.  You guide your race from its first interstellar journeys, until it becomes a mighty galactic empire.  Along the way, you'll explore the galaxy, conduct research, diplomacy and trade, found new colonies, maneuver mighty star fleets, and fight epic battles.  Create bustling colonies on foreign worlds to build powerful fleets, construct advanced buildings and research facilities that will help you master space and defend your civilization!  In a close race for victory, alliances forged through bartering and good will can help tip the balance of power in your favor as alien empires seek power and glory at your expense.

Powerful tutorial and advisor features help any would-be galactic commander get up to speed quickly, and with endless possible strategies Armada 2526 offers many different strategies to best your alien foes.

Unlike many games in this genre, Armada 2526 focuses on providing a game that can be finished in a reasonable time and emphasizes decisive strategy over micro-management.

Get the update here. This update is comprehensive and will bring all previous versions of Armada 2526 to version 1.3.0.2.
