Gold and Silver for Warfare Sims and On Target Simulations at Usenet’s Wargame of the Year Awards

Command Modern Air/Naval Operations, by Warfare Sims is named wargame of the year by the community on Usenet. It’s another great achievement for a game that’s been on the front pages of all main websites and specialist magazines for setting a new benchmark in modern warfare simulations. In development for over four years, the game gets a third accolade after being named Best Simulation of 2013 by Eurogamer DK and Best Wargame by War is Boring.

While Command takes the gold award, another game by Matrix Games takes silver. It’s Flashpoint Campaigns Red Storm, a long awaited wargame that was the surprise hit of last year. The game developed by On Target Simulations has received raving reviews since its release and has deserved a place amongst the best hex-based wargames of the decade.

“We are very grateful to see our games voted for year after year and we will continue to support our developers to make sure their games get the attention they deserve”, said Iain McNeil Development Director at Matrix. “We are proud to see players giving us and our development partners this continued recognition”.

Pandora: Eclipse of Nashira gets release date

    Thursday, August 28, 2014

Since the release of Pandora: First Contact in late 2013, developers from Proxy Studios have been carefully collecting players’ feedback and thinking about the pros and cons that were highlighted by the community. At the core of this debate were requests about the diversity in this 4X sci-fi game, and the richness of the diplomatic relations between the factions. As a result the team has been working hard to make the game deeper and released several patches and a free expansion – Return of Messari – that went in this direction, and brought brand new content with a game changer that ensured fun and challenge for the late game.
