We will again be attending the Internationale Spieltage SPIEL2013, Germany’s annual four-day gamer’s fest which takes place from the 24th to the 27th of October in Essen. This is now an annual pilgrimage for the Group.

The group will showcase its latest releases including Ageod’s Civil War IICommand Modern Air/Naval Operation, Flashpoint Campaigns: Red Storm and much more!

Wargamers will find:

  • A special version of the new introductory operational game in the spirit of Panzer General, Germany at War: Barbarossa 1941 fully localized into the German language and released just in time for the event.
  • Field of Glory: The Card Game, a quick card game inspired by Slitherine’s tabletop miniatures rules. Players select their units for battle by building a deck of 24 cards, then face their opponents across the battlefield. Care must be taken to choose the correct troop balance as each unit has its own specific strengths and weaknesses.
  • The release of World in Flames will be the main item on our schedule, with the World Premier of the digital version at the showOnly 50 exclusive copies of an Early Access version will be available for a few lucky wargamers. They will be the first on the planet to put their hands on this long-awaited digital version of World in Flames, originally created by Australia Design Group (www.a-d-g.com.au). Harry Rowlands the designer of the game will be at the booth Friday afternoon to sign copies of the Game. The game is totally unique and comes as a set of three hardback books enclosing the disc and includes a Ginormous world map. This is a great opportunity that real wargamers simply cannot miss!

    I’m sure you already know that Operation Torch, the first expansion for Gary Grigsby’s War in the West, was released yesterday.  And it’s much more than a classic scenario pack as new features have also been added to an already very deep game to allow for a better air phase and 2, 3 and 4 player multiplayer!  In order to give you more details and show you exactly what you can expect from Operation Torch, Erik Rutins – producer of the game – will host a live stream on Saturday the 10th!

    Almost one year ago, Gary Grigsby’s War in the West amazed fans of detailed wargames and critics alike. But even though the scope of the original game was impressive, developer 2by3 Games wanted to cover this part of the war more extensively.

    Today they are back with the release of a new expansion called Operation Torch. This introduces a set of new scenarios covering the African and Western European operations between late 1942 and 1945.

    D-2 before Operation Torch, the first expansion for Gary Grigsby's War in the West, lands on your computer!

    It’s high time to give some extra details of the new features introduced in Operation Torch.  Along with the multiple new single player scenarios, we’ve worked hard to enhance the multiplayer system. The result is that Operation Torch owners will now have access to a full messaging system, will have the chance to join bigger games including 3 or 4 players and also play as co-operative air and ground commanders with another human player against the AI!

    Over ten years ago, an incredible game brought to life the complexity and the destructive power of the War that never was, the possible massive conflict in Europe between Soviet Union and NATO.  This game was Flashpoint Germany.
